The use of LEDs is set to grow even more over coming years as a result of further developments in energy efficiency, luminance and the availability of wave lengths, and make inroads into many new market segments. Given the particular properties of LEDs, a range of areas of expertise are required in order to produce the right light for each application and focus it on the right point. Modern-day industrial applications demand more than just single products. Developing an LED system requires a wide range of technologies which most firms do not cover in full in-house. The cluster makes these technologies available through the expertise of its partners: LEDs, electronics, optics, thermo management, engineering and design.
