Cell culture 2.0

Cell culture 2.0 has the goal of developing innovative approaches for the production and quality assurance of new applications for human, animal and plant cells in the fields of medicine, pharmacy and nutrition. In contrast to the currently available methods that are adapted primarily for research and development in the laboratory, future processes should be compatible with large scale production need typical for an industrial environment. At the same time the individual needs of different cell types need to be taken into account in order to optimize their growth and synthesis behavior. To implement this vision, the cell culture 2.0 network brings together specialists from different work areas, developers of the various technologies as well as end-users. The topics range from the storage and transport of cells, the medium analytics and sensor technology to the production of both, diagnostics and therapeutics.
